Not really. It's a self-correcting error. As links die, people will just bump the threads and keep asking for re-posts until they appear. Many residents here patiently wait years hoping for a translation of their favorite comic. Those with money wait months for overseas shipping. Having to bump a thread a few times for someone to re-up something doesn't hurt anyone.

What might help most of all would be a sticky requesting for someone (not necessarily the OP) to promptly dump all images directly on the site for future uploads rather than relying completely on filesharing sites. Something along the lines of "Due to disappearing links, we request that all doujin uploads be made directly to the site with mirrored filesharing links serving solely *backup* purposes."

Having one person actively audit everything would be a job. Best to just stop it before it happens again in the future and permit the past to correct itself on request.

I think someone is reporting links because a lot more would be down than what already is if mediafire. Some folders that have porn are still up.

seconded

either

1. Mediafire is spooked by the MU incident and is deleting and banning files and accounts

or

2. some asshole is reporting the links (some do come up as "invalid or deleted file" meaning that they were either removed by the uploader or taken down because no one downloaded them for a specific period of time

Is anyone interested in auditing the collection of uploaded manga, seeing what is missing and uploading files?

Maybe set up a FTP Server to host the manga rather than public sites for safekeeping?
