Hmm... I checked out YChan, and while the system they've got seems pretty interesting, they seem to have the same attitudes as Fchan that made that place stop being fun. The whole hate on cub stuff to me, seemed like just an excuse for one furry to feel morally superior to another, but used to be nobody gave a damn or they just didn't fight about it as much as now. (What's comical to me is how they say any character that is aesthetically "under-age looking" is cub, yet bread-n-butter characters like Tails and Klonoa are exempt from the "law" they're so desperate to comply with.)

I really sucks that Wildcritters is gone. It was one of my faves, a step above e621 on my "like" scale because it was mostly non-western furry stuff, everyone there was pretty nice including the mods and nobody really ever fought over stuff there.

Dry, cool place where dust does not collect. Though not doujins, I know of some obsessive comic book collectors who plastic-sleeve everything and then put those into those paper filing boxes.

If you intend to flip through them often, your best bet is to invest in some clear plastic book jackets which will provide you with as much protection as you can get while still being able to open the book.

Though personally I don't really bother with that. I just remove the binding, scan, carefully replace the binding, and plastic sleeve+box in case I ever want to sell any of them.

That is a totally sexy idea, and is very doable. I can probably also write a little script to detect if a file is from pixiv and just send users straight there. I will have to play with it. Also, I have been poking at having files not get renamed. I have been weighting the possibilities...one is to have it reject files that have the same name as something already uploaded...that would be a pain for doujins I am sure. Another possibility would be to do a pawsru style $BOARD$POSTNUMBER'_'$FILENAME type deal. What do you guys think? What is most convenient?

Actually, it looks like it would be a bit more work than I initially thought. Here is how the FF extension does it:

As a migrant from WC myself, I'd have to say that an alternative place to post critter art would, at least for me, may be quite welcome--perhaps not immediately, but in the forseeable future. WC is pretty much ripping itself to shreds right now, so a drama-free alternative would be wonderful. The only problem is, a very large portion of critter art is loli/shota, which is against the current rules for posting. Would an exception be given for such a board?
